Balconies are constantly exposed to the elements, making them vulnerable to water damage if not properly protected. Water ingress, ponding and structural deterioration can occur, leading to cracks, leaks and costly repairs. Investing in advanced waterproofing solutions is essential to ensuring your balcony’s longevity.

Similar to flat roofs, balconies can experience water ponding, especially when drainage is insufficient. When water remains on the surface for extended periods, it can lead to structural damage, such as leaks and deterioration. As noted by the Designing Buildings Wiki, ponding refers to the collection of water on an impermeable surface, such as a roof, where the slope or drainage is inadequate to allow runoff. This accumulation of water can cause damage to structures and in some cases, may indicate developing defects like settlement or structural movement. Effective drainage is essential to prevent water accumulation, which can result in costly repairs and reduced structural integrity.
